How do you go about measuring available suspension travel?

get something to clip onto the piston rod of the suspension and put it all the way to the bottom against the suspension body/seal. Then go drive. After, check to see where the clip ended up and that is how far your suspension traveled.

Or spend some coin and get the stack data loger with suspension travel logging.
