Built a battery holder for an Odyssey battery!!!
I had a bit of time on my hands and access to a CNC Mill........So, I took a digital photo of the Type R sticker, cleaned it up and put it the drawing program. To use as engraving for the handle.
Once I got the look I wanted, moved it to the Mill.
Close-up.
Removed the Battery & the Stand thingy it sits on. Then mapped the shape of the stand.
Heres the bits & peices. Going Clockwise from the ...Battery, Bottom Plate, Handle & spare bit of Plastic to make another one for the CRV. Could be nearly the same.
Re-install.
Alittle model aircraft paint.
All Done. I like it.
You might noticed the bottom plate hole for the battery is Offset, to get this weight more towards the centre. The other hole in the bottom plate was to remove extra plastic (weight) without losing the strenght.
Not too bad for a quick project, that filled a days work.
What do you guys think.
These Pic's were made possible by the good folks at We-todds-did-racing.com. Thanks.

What Oddysey battery is that? I have a PC625 and it stands up right, looks smaller and used the original battery holder no problem. YOurs is an odd looking battery.
Nice looking holder

Asahi - It's an Odessy 800. Way big enought for an ITR. You could travel a couple of miles just cranking the starter, with this battery. But you would need a bigger one if it was located in the trunk. To allow for extra cable length.
zygspeed - Ha ha - I work for IBM, I do the Computer work. That's my engineering friend Bruce, It's his workshop. He's got a nice CRV, with 2.5" exhaust, 3" Intake (both custom made by him) Mugen sway-bays and Showa shocks, Lower by about 4".
How long have you been running that battery in the Boot? Look tiny, but I don't know anything about those Holley Batteries, But I'd mount it in a Battery box anyway, just to stop thing hitting it, toolbox..etc. Is it OK like that for the Track? .

Yeah, I had a few guys here in OZ, that were interested. But it was just a fun project. They would cost too much seeing you can buy cheap Battery brackets from $10-$15.
Maybe the Ricers would try out bidding each other...... Big $$$...hehehe
Later.
