Yes, they can, with a good driver.... But its rare, better off trying from a roll because the ITR LSD has a great advantage at the start..
I've got a stock 93 lude and ive been told if i get good at driving it i shoudl be getting in the high 14's....what does a stock ITR run?

where are these slow type r's?
here in florida, anybody not able to get a 14.6 out of it is instantly labeled a retard and shunned from the 1320.

i have seen a 4th gen vtec lude beat an ITR. i personally think the ITR is over rated sometimes but dont get me wrong its definitly a bad *** car.

I have a 96 VTEC and I have beaten a Type R. He bogged at the start and I was able to get half a car lead on him and kept it. He had intake and exhuast and 17 in Racing Harts C2's. I had intake/header/exhaust and 17 in Sparcos.
If I knew how to post on this board I'd show some slips of a TYPE R.
My buddy has I/H/E & Vtec Controller runs low 14's all day..
a Lude running low14's can take em.. but stock vs. stock no way!
now a stock lude with a LSD, vs stock ITR I can see.

How many preludes can get into the 12's with cams and headwork? hmmmm...
All things aside, owning both, the ITR is much harder to launch from a start as compared to the prelude. I've dragged the lude hundreds of times, and only raced the R in the quarter twice, but the difference is noticable. The ITR has more[edit-make that less] room for failure(meaning, bogging or spinning), the prelude is more forgiving in the launch.
I completly agree with the above comment- the ITR is a track car; not a drag car. I did not spend $26k to beat the crap out of my car. I have vowed not to ever drag my ITR again. Besides, that's why I have the prelude!
on a side note, ive noticed that 5th gear acceleration in the R sucks, compared to the lude. I remember DEMOLISHING a guy in a PY ITR about a year ago, on the way to the poconos. I was in my turbo'd lude, but man did I walk away like he was in reverse.

I raced a PY ITR, I got the jump off the line and held him at my front tire untill I shut it down at 90. He then gave me the bird and did a ricer flyby.
i dont understand why everyone uses the term "rice fly by"
if you are ahead.. and you think the race is over.. you slow down. the other guy doesnt know you are going to stop. so by the time he realizes it, he "flys by".

it's a fly by cause when I shut it down, I'm a half mile ahead, and it takes 45 seconds for them to catch me... they know they've lost and the race is over, they just have to "fly by."

I have had one hang with me he had a 75 shot.We were even until I shifted to fourth then I walked him.He had his nitrous set up to not run in higher gears for fear of leaning it out on the highway.I am no Nitrous buff but atleast that was the excuse he was using.

Im not talking all stupid...YET....lol but isnt the fastest all-motor car in the entire universe a 2.2 H23/VTEC?
Last time I checked, thats PRELUDE POWER.
Not taking too much away from Type-R B series power...B series motors take the next 9 out of 10 slots for worlds fastest all motor honda's.
