Default Grinding 5th

box grinds going into 5th.
jst got a brand new 5 speed gearbox on my 94 h22a accord.
Any ideas on wat would make it grind up so early in its life???
its got new clutch, and all fluid levels are good outside as well as inside the gearbox.
grinds when going into gear over 140km/hr but not before...

If there is a problem in the tranny then you'll have to have a certified auto tech take a look at it because its real easy to mess things up. The Honda tranny cases can easily crack from just taking off the small 10mm bolts! I know becuase it happend to a friend. Anyhow did you let the tranny break in first before doing any hard driving? A new tranny requires at leat 1000 miles of regular driving before you start to drive more aggressive. If you don't do that and you start pounding on it then don't expect it to last very long.

its a common problem. it doesnt only happen to those who drive hard, bad design. There's a TSB w/ repair info on it online somewhere.
