Default Finally dynoed my car with greddy kit..

Well I finally got some of my questions answered and from other results I have seen from cars on the greddy kit I was decently happy considering if I had tuning capabilities the car would have a much better HP number. Sorry that its from photopoint but just cut and paste the url. It also answered my questions as far as running lean or rich and it is definitely rich!
http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?...nce=0&res=high

My torque measured at 165 to the wheels but thats on my 2nd graph which I haven't scanned yet. And can someone tel me based on the air fuel ratio if it was tuned correctly how much of a power increase can I ideally get? I figured another 15hp or 20hp possibly?? BTW: Setup is as follows gsr greddy kit@7.8 psi , ngk plugs, 2.5" downpipe, no cat, hks hyper exhaust(SHITTY EXHAUST which probably held me back some hp) considering I am FI. And I am on 17" wheels... Again there is room for improvement but I don't think it's fairly that bad considering my setup. Peace people

If yopu copy and then paste the link on your browser the graph will show up.... but anyhow I got 214hp and 164.6 max torque to the wheels. My air/Fuel ratio was 10:1 though from 4.5k to 7k basically telling me I am running to rich.. My mods are exactly what you see above.

Yeah 2.5" fabricated downpipe, and removed the restrictor plate off the pipe with filter to turbo inlet side.

Nice numbers!!! Can't wait to see what some tuning does.

Just remove your air filter man and you will see the plate...It only allows an inlet of 1" in circumference of airflow. Once you take off the air filter you will see the plate and you can pry it off with a flathead or dremel.

Uhmmm the equivalent to a twig!! Naw I think it's only like 1.75" from what it looks like, but very very puny, I changed it out a week after having the kit.

Getting a larger DP and a 3" exhaust will help lean out the mixture a little bit. Nice numbers! Also, try messin with your FPR if you have one. T.O.O. has a nice article on lowering FPR pressures.. maybe that could help if your pressure is too high.

Do u have a front mount?? What is the differece between runs, im just guessing it was exactly the same and you just ran it twice.

How did you fabricate your downpipe? Did you just redo the part after the cast elbow (just made another downpipe with a 3 bolt flange), or did you redo everything from the turbo down? I see the most restrictive part being the cast elbow, so i'm thinking of a way to redo everthing after the turbo, but it'll take a lot of time because the opening has to be big because of the outlet for the internal wastegate. The cast elbow is so restrictive because it's thick, so the internal diameter is smaller, and it has a more than 90 sharp bend which is very restrictive. We need on of those arturbo downpipes fabricated for us greddy owners pretty bad! For those who has or has seen the greddy kit, any ideas on how to improve the downpipe?

Thanks alot guys for the replies. No fpr yet... I got the smaller of the 2 front mounts type 31 i believe... As far as the downpipe yeah I had the downpipe opened 2.5" after the cast elbow but regardless I still yielded some gain from the "but dyno" once it was put back in, but most of all I do need a 3" exhaust.

thoese numbers are better than i expected? i have a GReddy kit also. Have you done any sort of tweaking/tuning to the kit besides the plate and DP? Do you guys think making the IC pipes larger would help at all?

I doubt making the intercooler pipes any larger will help at all. Downpipe is key to this kit even tho I have not done it yet.

No tweaking which is why you see me running so rich.. And like Gmedalion said, the key being the downpipe because the greddy dp definitely restricts that kits potential, and with some tuning and bigger exhaust I hope to see a nice amount in gain. Thanks,

Nick

Thats intercooled. My mods to the car again:

gsr greddy kit @7.8 psi(using 310's and blue box)
NGK plugs, msd wires
fabricated new downpipe after elbow piece which is 2.5", no catylitic, hks hyper exhaust, stock timing.

Thats it.

Boost! Post the other dyno sheet that shows the tq. and hp. at the same time. Wanna see it.

Ok here's the link for the 2nd graph containing hp and torque curve.

Okay. Much better.

Can someone explain how you can flatten out (not perfectectly) the graph line 'cause i see a lot of momentum spikes throughout the power band. Is that what the greddy turbo been designed to do?

Most of the time its a setting on the actual dyno that you can change to make the curves look smoother.

Sometimes those spikes are a sign of detonation - be careful.

I don't think boostkillz gets detonation. He's running extremely rich. Can it be smoothen out just by tweaking the ignition or cam timing? It looks like the engine is pissed..
