Default sohc turbo, who has a drag kit??

I just picked up a drag generation 1 turbo kit for my d16z6.
I am curious to see what everyones opinion is on this turbo kit, right now there is a .5 bar spring in the wastegate and my d16 is mildly built.

So tell me how quick is your sohc and do you like the turbo, I am gonna install it once I make a downpipe and what to know your opinions

i just installed my drag gen 3 kit. my motor is a d16y8 and it pulls hard!!!

in fact, after riding in my car for like 2 weeks, i got into my lil bro's 03 si and it felt like an automatic...hahhahaa!!! no pedal pressure at all. i pulled on him like cray in 3rd on highway...he never had a chance.

my missing link is broken too
so the car has issues with map sensor, but i still run it. im waiting for my hondata to come in so i can tune it and probably run it at like 9 lbs w/o any problems!!! good luck

All I have at the moment is the FMU, but i want the uberchip.

I am hopping for 10-12 lbs of boost, but i cant wait to put my kit on

BTW what kind of exhuast are you running?

i have fmu right now. pos, im got hondata, just need to tune and install it. i should be making 200 plsu whp without a problem. thats at like 8-9

10-12 u are asking 4 troble. thats like track day boost. daily should be 8-9 for safety reason.

i got a full 2.5 downpipe to 2.5 system, no cat or resonators. out back to a magnaflow muff. its koo. pulls hard

ek9psi: did your turbo come with a .63 a/r??? A friend of mine has the drag gen 3 on his 99 ex. I told him to specify .48 on the exhaust housing but he didn't and now it spools late for only having a 6800 redline. He's running somewhere around a 8 pound spring in his tial wastegate and it still feels like a dog.

IMO a .63 a/r is not a good choice for a stock SOHC motor that isn't capable of higher revs. Top end power is better but as soon as it gets good you have to shift. My friend's turbo falls out of boost when he shifts.

wow. mines full spooled at like 4k. i feel it start up at 3.5k. yes it is a .63 exhaust housing, pretty big, but its worth it. with hondata it will make possibly over 200 whp at a rating of 8-9lbs.

boostsofast: tell ur friend to upgrade the fuel managament. i havent really ran my car hard yet, b/c of the missing link ordeal(broken).

***also, best posssible upgrade to the sohc is a P28. get a jumper harness and a p28. the rev limit will b higher, that way u can make it into the 7-8k. if u think 6k makes power, wait till 7 adn 8 come out.

another thing he could do is downgrade the turbo and put a t3 on it, but i would not advise it. however it will spool up much faster.

Yea I'm sure there is a lot more he can do to get the best out of his kit. I told him to order a .48 exhaust housing and take out the .63. I won't tell him much more cause I like the way my car straight 0wnz his *** with a greddy kit.

I sold this kit to a friend.

Drag kit, running "uberchip"-style fuel managment, it's running a base-tune right now, and I'm going to wideband tune it, but it's off the road for the winter.

He doesn't need any more power right now, he just needs to address traction issues. It's a mean-*** car at .5 bar

I have one on my 1.5 sohc. The only thing i dont like is that it comes with a .63 ar ex housing. Spools a little to slow for my likings on that small of a motor. SO i swapped to a .48
