I need help with the thrust washer for my differential, Help Please.
So I found out that hard abuse (probably from the previous owner) is what caused my diff lock pin to shear off and then the shaft for my spider gears was moving with the gears...Hence all the wierd noises I was hearing as I slowed down. Anyway I am going to order all new bearings. 5 for the counter and main shafts, 3-new seals. 2 axle seals a new mainshaft seal. Also new bearings for the diff I got for free(thanks Josh). My question is do I need to use the thrust washer out of his transmission case cover, or should I use mine. Or does it really matter. Does anybody know. The techs at work said that iff its off it might make some more noise than usual...I know if you put a quaife in you have to measure it and then if it is off you have to buy the correct shim.
This is a pic of my old diff....You can see where the pin was slowly tweaked and then decided to wallow its way out of the diff housing...
This is my newer diff where the pin is intact and rightly in its hole.
Also his trans is from a Del-Sol SI and my trans is from a 95-EX coupe...
Both 5-spds.
Thanks in advance guys. I really appreciate the help.

try to use your old shim first, then you have to check for diff bearing clearance. if you don't check for diff bearing clearance. you will have a lot of diff gear noise.
