Better performance with Apexi AFC????

Better performance with Apexi AFC????
If I were to put on an Apexi AFC in my 97 Civic DX with AEM CAI and Universal exhaust, and tune it to make teh car run richer, would I get better times/acceleration?? I didnt know if simply tuning this would yield better performance or just a smoother running car.
