4th gen exhaust differences??
Hey guys, I know that there is a difference between the stock cats on the Si and the VTEC. Is the VTEC cat-back exhaust...longer....or shorter than the Si???
The reason why i ask is I bought a Thermal Classic exhaust for my 4th gen Si......but when I tried to install it.....the piping seemed too long. I didn't think anything of it. Installing it was difficult because the exhaust pipe coming from the exhaust was too long. So I pushed the piping back as far as I could...then connected the pipe to the cat (VERY tight fit).
Today, I noticed that my downpipe is leaking. I looked under the car to notice that the header flex pipe buckled a little and now it is leaking.
Did the place I buy it from send me a VTEC exhaust?? Are VTEC cat-backs longer or shorter than the Si's??
Thanks

wrong
the only difference is the bolt pattern on the cat.
you can simply drill new holes in the cat for the bolts that will match up the the exhaust's bolt holes.
i have a vtec exhaust on my si and thats exactly what i did
maybe its a 5th gen exhaust?

You want to put some money on that, smartass
..
I have had 2 differant sets of Greddy Sp exhausts back in the day.. The vtec exhaust is shorter, and bangs on the rear lower arm if you dont extend it out 1 inch...And yes the bolt holes are off alittle at the flang..
So you can take that WRONG ****, and stick it up your uneducated, unexperienced, hisso. f0 chizzal bizzel..

Thats why I had 2 Greddy Sp exhausts on my lude when I had the stock h23 cat, and the exhaust was too short.. Both of them
Nothing like hearing the pipes hitting the lower arm, every time you start it up, or rev the engine..

Just think about what you wrote here..ummm OK done?
Now if the H23 cat is shorter by 1" then the H22's(which it is, I have measured them) Then any Vtec exhaust you buy, will be 1" shorter then the H23's stock exhaust cause the H22's cat is longer by 1", so the exhaust is shorter, then the h23's..
Maybe you got lucky and it dont bang on the arm and heat sheilds..
Dont know F0 shur chizzel
