Default anyone running an 8" tall intercooler?

just trying to gather some ideas on how to mount it, i still have to either have brackets welded on, or get some jbweld and go to town...

Did you have to cut up your front bumper support? i would love to see some pictures before I go to work on it. thanks a lot.

My intercooler is 12" tall and it hangs way below the front bumper! I am going to sell it and buy a shorter yet thicker one. No way am I cutting my bumper support. These cars are thin and light enough in a crash without taking more off!

I plan on setting my intercooler behind the bumper support and up a little bit. So maybe a couple of rows are blocks a slight bit. Either that or im going to get my air powered grinder in the action

Mines 8 inches tall. I made some brackets out of some extra metal, Works fine, and fits perfect with the bumper on.

did you have to take off the bumper support to fix your intercooler like that or was it for personal pref. I want to run a 28x9x2 and not the rev hard 28x6.5x3 will i have to take the support off also?

I chose to take off the support because its just dead weight, hehe. However, you can still run this size intercooler with the support, depending on how you hang/configure it. The larger 9 inch one will all depend on what car/bumper you have to squeeze it inside. If you have the 6.5 hangin from the support, its possible to just notch the support so the IC will squeeze in there.

Sorry for the double post..

Well you can see in the first picture, there is a large gap between the top of the support and the IC. If you did it the way i did, and made shorter brackets, i believe its possible.

before i got my 10" tall cooler and ditched the bumper support... my first intercooler was 8" tall i kept the bumper support in, but i trimmed about 1/2" up into it so that i could put my intercooler into the bumper support itself, then i tilted it back from the bottom to give me even mroe clearance. Just an idea... this was a smaller greddy IC on a 00 Civic. Now ive got it Ron Style with no stinkin support!
