1982 Accord cold start *HELP*
New to this group, hope to be able to help some as time goes on. I'll try to keep this short and still post what I need to.
I just bought an '82 Accord for my daughter, who will be getting her DL soon. The car was "stored" outside for the last 1 1/2 years, but it was a STEAL - 76,000 original miles, one owner! Bought a new battery, replaced all fluids, and it ran rough but OK for 2 tanks of gas. Got a Factory manual so I could work on it. Had to replace the vacuum booster and master cylinder (not much room to pull the booster, but got it done). No problem.
Cleaned the Keihin 3 bbl carb & choke really well, pulled the plugs (which looked almost new) and re-gapped them to spec (1.1mm), timed the engine to spec (16 degrees BTDC). All wires ohmed out at ~ 10 k.
On cold start, it has to have the gas pumped about 3 times before it will start, then seems to be hitting on 3 cyls for about a minute or so - then revs to around 2k - takes a long tme for the choke pull off to work. After it's warm, it runs well, but at idle the is an occasional miss.
Anyone got an idea? Thanks in advance.
