Clifford Matrix RS 3.5
Don't get that piece of ****. it is made by DEI and DEI is ****. They print the wiring diagrams on teh back of their brains for alarms. Go out and get yourself a Code Alarm TW1 or a Clifford Concept 400 (which was made before DEI took them over).
Clifford G4 series alarms are the **** and have a bunch of cool features that are helpful, such as a voltage drop sensor that will start your car and run it if the brain senses voltage dropping below a certain point(you will need an intellistart 4 for this though).

i just got my Compustar 2 way pager alarm. I was also thinking about the Matrix rs3, but the range sucks. My compustar receives ranges up to 1.25miles, and it's cheaper than the matrix too. check out their website http://www.compustar.com
Where did you get it installed at? This guy at Frys here has the Matrix and he started his car from the back of the store, and his car was in a restraunt parking lot a ways away.
i got it installed at a local authorized dealer. We'll my friend has it (matrix rs3) and he parked down the street from the restaurant and we when in and sat down, he was already out of range. Matrix's range is 1/4 mile, Compustar range 1.25 miles.. that's 5 times more the range of the Matrix. And if you have a 5spd then compustar will be a even better choice. You can remote start it safetly (it will not start if left in gear), while on the Matrix you risk jumping it if it's left in gear.

i've put in hundreds of alarms in my line of work, i would go with a dei product. they have less problems then anything else. the g4 cliffords were a pain in the *** and compustars arn't much better.

that is the dumbest thing i have ever heard! dei is a VERY reliable product. the code alarm tw1 has got to be the worst alarm that i have ever installed, of the 9 that we have installed at my shop....7 of them have been swapped out with dei alarms (and we aren't a dei dealer). agreed that the g4 line of clifford is a quality line of alarms, but they are not really suited for the general public since they are almost never used up to their full potential.

i'd like to know this as well, i'm in the market for an alarm system and really am not that educated in terms of alarms, and was looking at the Clifford Matrix RS 3.5.
usually not, it is recomended to install antenna on the front windshield. positioning it depends on the car. most work best in the center by the rearview mirror, but some work better on the sides.
Yea, that's where mine is. But my friend had his put inside the plastic on the drivers side because his installer told him that it would have better range attached to that.
Tw1 are great alarms. I know about 10 people with them and they haven't had any problems with them at all. they are easy to install and they work with both manual and automatic cars.
I will say this one thing. DEI puts the wiring diagram on the back of their alarms. Personally i don't want theives knowing what wires to cut to disable the siren and then proceed to take out the alarm.
TW1 get great range. 1 mile when flicking the jumper. No alarm will give you 1.25 miles of range. It is impossible. think about it. Interference is everywhere. The only way to get great range is to get a satelite alarm, which you can phone from your cell to start your car, disarm it, arm it, and it calls your phone when it is going off. It is nice but it costs like $10 a month for service after the first 12 months.
