Default dyno: B16 built topend+stock block

My little motor

to bad there is no tq readings with a bosh dyno but the tuner said you could see how good tq is by the line of your powerband.

consists of:
ported head
skunk cams
itr mani & throttle body
jdm dc header
2.5 catback
hondata ecu w/ ere prog

Nice numbers but only a 10% power loss through the drive train seems a little strange to me for some reason?

thanks makes peak power @8600 and redlines @ exactly 9k. drivetrain loss is 22 hp which is about right , that is in my setup though. The head is done by alaniztechnologies. I posted build up plans but never posted the results but now since I have a scanner just thought I'd share.

The head was also milled 0023 and also welded the chambers pent roof style(like a gsr head,k series head) to gain a little more comp, which is now @ 10.8

sorry bout the small pics

no problem. its basically this: Baseline flow bench test. Full Competition port and polish head.Polish, deshroud and debur all chambers. Competition valve job. Resurface and hand lap head to customer specs, had mine milled .023 material removal. welded chambers pentroof style and Final flow test .

Nice numbers man. I love seeing what people are doing with their B16's. It gives the rest of us a good idea of what they're capable of (since so many hate on them). Since no one has asked, How does it drive? any good comparisons?

electric, nice numbers man
Well just recently went to a another dyno this time I went to a (dynapak) and got my car dynoed again after almost a year from my previous one which was a (bosch dyno) just to see how the engine is holding up. Plus I wanted to know what my torque # were and air fuel ratio readings are since the Bosch dyno does not provide those infos i have just mentioned.

heres a bigger pic of my old dyno

the header that I'm using is a 4into1 jdm dc header and the second dyno was just a baseline, no setting was changed from the previous.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by electric_ &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote"> </TD></TR></TABLE>Is this your dyno or soak-it's dyno??If it's Soak-it's here's his responcek. this is like the 5th time i've had to do this.
thats my dyno sheet. it was my motor that made the 190.

the KEY to all the sucess was that that ECU.

i dynoed at 168 and 116 tq. on B16 cams, skunk manifold and DC headers and an ericks racing manifold. b16 head milled 40 thou.
(so what ever cheerleader it was that said i dynoed at 160 and then just bolted this head on to make 190...please take the time to learn the truth before speaking.)

i broke a stock retainer spinning that motor to 10,000 all the time.

so i was in need of some new parts. there was an add on thepartstrader.com for a GSR head , ported with crower valvetrain for 900$. i wanted the valvetrain and the gsr head, so it sounded like a good deal.

so i took, my newly bought CTR cams,ERICKS RACING full race gsr manifold(same as whats on his car, except fewer middle plates),new JG headers, and a spoon head gasket.i also purchused dave's power pulley. took that all to dave and had him put the head onto the block i just bought from watanabe motors which was an AUTOMATIC.

now then, all these parts worked great together. and the headwork on the gsr head was decent. with all the same parts and with the 168 i already had made on stock everything, i might have been able to get the same from ANYONES head i chose. i FOR SURE would have had a much better graph and more useable powerband if the head had been ported for my application.

this is what i dont like. misleading information. dave sold me a PRE PORTED HEAD. he did not make this head for me, he did not build this motor, as its a STOCK BLOCK. he had nothing to do with any tuning of this motor. as there was none to be had. all the setting were the EXACT same as when i dynoed the 168. cam gears at 1-1 and the fuel pressure at 20lbs. and the timing set to 6 degrees. i made 187 on base line and after an hour on the dyno came up with 189.9.

if you guys have more questions about this motor and what not, please direct them at ME. as i have no reason to lie.... im not trying to sell you anything.

thanks,
steve munson
He also added this today to another postLEASE stop repeating second hand information of events that happend almost 2 years ago, which you were neither in attendance of nor had any involvement with my car or DHR at the time.

and as far as business is concerned, where else could it go but up. when your at rock bottom doing 3 cars in a month suddenly your business has just TRIPLED. and lets look at how that business trippled, by LYING to people on EBAY. using MY dyno plot and being DISHONEST about what products were on the car.
i have no respect for him because of this matter. weather his products worked or not, i would rather take my business to a person i trust then a LIAR. i'm sure that 90% of the rest of this forum would agree with me here.

reputations speak for themselves, you should not ever have to defend yours, unless there is a reason. show me a single post that says erick is shady, or alaniz screwed them over, or portflow gave them a shitty head....ill say it again, YOUR REPUTATION WILL SPEAK FOR IT SELF ! ! ! dhr's speaks volumes.
