Hone the H22a1 before dropping pistons?
Now I know that honing adds texture to the cylinder walls to help break in the rings. However, the Helm's says that it isn't necessary to hone the block unless there is enough scoring to catch a fingernail. So, do I pull the motor and hone the block or just drop the oil pan, check the cylinders, and toss the type S pistons in if everything checks out? TIA
i'ts not using standard stones....
special stones and paste must be used. your engine builder should contact his supplier they should know.. not just a g60 stone or what helms say.

y dont you have the cylinder walls hone right at the shop when you have the pistons installed, this is very important for your rings to seal right.

Because I'm putting this motor together myself.
