Hello - First Post - Restoring '83 Accord (sort of)
Hello Everyone,
I found this place from another Honda community and I look forward to hanging out here . . . I fully realize my 1983 Accord is nothing like 99.9% of what goes on here, however, I'm hopeful there will be some folks here who can give me some advice . . . much needed as I am not a "mechanic", though I have begun tearing apart my car in order to "fix" it . . . it ran great when I bought it, but it puffed smoke really bad . . . money has dried up and now, all I have is enough to do the head . . . previous to this car, my only other Honda was a new Wagovan I bought in '86 . . . my only mechanical skills involve the usual stuff - replacing alternators, water pumps, doing tune ups, fluid changes, brakes, et cetera . . . this is the first time I've ever attempted to remove a head . . . thus far, it's a complete nightmare and I am pretty lost . . .
. . . hopefully, someday, this experience may turn out to be a positive thing . . . it's hard to see that far ahead at this point . . .
. . . happy Honda-ing . . .

The Honda Helms manual is going to be your best friend in the Do it yourself repair and maintain departments. Seriously consider buying one.

I just posted this response at the other Honda community . . . I'm quitting . . . it's simply no use . . . I can't remove the intake/exhaust manifold or the crank pulley if my life depended on it . . . not enough tools, knowledge or patience . . .
. . . I'm having a salvage yard haul it away . . .

LOL, we could help with the knowledge and maybe the tools. But you would have to supply patience.

Remember these words when dealing with rusted bolts and the crank pulley bolt.
1/2" drive breaker bar and a long cheater bar.
These two items make working on a car infinitely better.
A single impact wrench would also be nice, but meh
