Brake light on cluster is on???? No bulbs burnt out!
I have a 97 Accord LX. Just recently my brake light on the cluster has been coming on. I check the brake lights and the park lights in the rear and everything is fine. And if it was a short wouldnt it blow out a fuse or a brake light bulb itself?
Is it the "BRAKE LAMP" indicator located at the bottom of the picture which shows your doors open, or is it the "BRAKE" indicator which comes on when you set your parking brake. If it's the "BRAKE" indicator it's probably coming on because the switch on the parking brake is out of adjustment or your fluid resevoir is low. Check your fluid first if it's the "BRAKE" light.
Whenever my brake pads were worn out, the brake light came on to notify me. After I changed my pads, the light turned off.
if none of the proposed solutions work, i have found that the sensor triggering this "brake light" indicator has a possibility of shorting out. it is located in each of the outter taillights. this might be your problem. it's number 29 on this diagram:
Yea it is the brake lamp light, not the actual brake light. Sorry about that, and thanks a lot timmy0tool, ill try that and see if it fixes it.
