Default 5th Gen Distributor?

Hi all, I have heard talk of using a 5th gen distributor on a SOHC VTEC in a 4th gen, and rewiring to keep OBD0. Has anyone done this? I searched and never found anything, so I hope someone has a pinout or conversion info or something.... Any help is greatly appreciated!

Default Re: 5th Gen Distributor? (4gzchatch)

you can't use the 5th gen or newer in a 4th gen unless you convert to OBD-1. There is a sensor inside the distributor that sends pulses to the ECU. The sensors differ between OBD-0 and OBD-1/2.

You have to either find a way to swap out the sensors (cost more than it's worth) or modify an OBD-0 distributor to mount to the Z6 head. If you used a Y8 head, then you can just bolt your OBD-0 distributor right onto it... no mods.
