Default greddy e-manage

Would this piggy back system be good for tuning on an allmotor H22A1.This is the best priced system that i have found.

It's an overgrown AFC. It can't change the base maps in the ECU. It can only alter the way the ECU decides on which cells to use for a given load and rpm.

The only thing it would allow you to do over an AFC is to affect igntion timing independently of fuel. Your redline is unchangeable with the e-manage.

The base piggyback is inexpensive, but once you start adding all the options on, it's just as expensive as a lot of other alternatives out there.

If you get a Hondata system, I think Rob at Full Blown still has the Hondata burning stuff.

And, if I can get mine to the point of knowing that it can work consistently, we can do a dyno session together where you can use my Hondata equipment....just not the laptop.

That way you can get a pretty bare-bones Hondata S200 w/ Datalogging to do the tuning.

I dont recommend the emanage, its horrible, tuned my ls/vtec on dyno and it never ran right. Also the ignition harness on the emanage messes up the honda ignition. My car died on me one night and then it would not start. Search for hours everything was connected right but still nothing. I unplugged the ignition harness and it turned on first crank like nothing ever happened. Emanage=Garbage

I also have a friend that has the e-manage and his system worked well for about 1-2 months than after that he started complaing that it was running way too rich, timming was waaaayyyy too advanced and now he just doesnt even drive the car no more. He regrets getting it and now he wants to upgrade to a hondata, which i recommended him to get in the first place.

Were these on OBD-2 cars that experienced all the problems?

No it was on a 94 gsr pbd1, and Dr. Charles dyno tunned it so there really shouldnt be a problem.

is it really that bad? how hard is it to tune? are there any advantages over a SAFC besides the timing?

No it's not to the point where his car doesnt run good...he just feels the difference from the time it was tuned till now. Usually every car owner should know the way their car drives when something changes. Im assuming it's not hard to get it tunned if you have the appropriate tools.

you guys do know that. when you take away fuel, timing is advanced automatically by the ecu. that's why i chose the emanage. when i take away fuel i can retard my timing.

When I had my e-manage installed, the first one wasn't functioning properly. After the shop owner talked to greddy on the phone for awhile, they established it was simply a bad e-manage.

The representative on the phone said it was the first time he had ever herd of an e-manage going bad.
