why does my battery keep draining???
i put my motor back in and drove around, and after a wile the battery starts going dead. the one i had set for about a mounth so i thought it might not hold a charge any more so i put in a new optima and took the altantor to get checked. thay said it was cool. so i put it in car fires up, i drove today it drains the battery again. anyone know what might be going on??? something else for me to check out??? cant drive my damn car far off cause it might die.
. i will check back later thanks.

My first instinct is that you have some loose wiring somewhere if the alternator really ISN'T bad. Have the alternator checked in the car and make sure that the charge is getting TO the battery.
After that, you can go from there and start looking for bad grounds, touching wires etc that might pull juice from the alternator.
Once you get the car started, if you take the battery out, the alternator should still pump out enough juice to keep the car running.

The first thing you need to do is go buy a $20 digital multimeter from Wal-mart. While the car is off use the amp setting on the multimeter and connect it to probes to the battery and see if there is any draw. If there is you have a drain in your electrical system somewhere. If you have a drain start pulling fuses from the under hood fuse box until you find the fuse that makes your amps go to zero and you have identified the drain.
Now if you have a drain while you are driving and not while the car is off I would suggest you turn the multimeter to volts, disconnect the alternator wire that goes to the battery and put the probes on the alternator positive and a ground. If you don't get 12v-14v at idle then your alternator is dying.

deffinately a better option to what I said. Just scratch my post.
