Default OT: Tranny Help Please

A friend of mine gave me a B16 LSD tranny that has been ran without fluid. What should I expect? I haven't seen it yet, but my friends say all the gears look fine...replace the differential?

Depends how long it was run without fluid, but usually the result of that is the bearings fail. If it was run a very long time without fluid, then the diff will show some wear.

I just know that the tranny was ran until it seized up. The gears still turn smoothly...is it the differential that is bad, or do all the bearings in the tranny need to be replaced? What usually happens in this type of situation?
