My Kenwood x759 just took a dump on me, it wont turn on at all anymore... So I am in the market for a new one... Besides Kenwood, do you guys know any other kinds of cd players that offers something similar to Kenwood's D MASK and offer mp3? thanks!!!

Everyone and their mom makes mp3 players now. I don't like PIoneers mp3 though, there is a long pause between songs when you change tracks.

I am thinking about the is one from Panasonic to replace my Pioneer:

Best thing to do is to stay away from any thing that flips, trips, or falls. The Kenwoods are notorious for the ribbon cable going bad in them. That cable is what send the signals to the faceplate from the brain. When the face flips around so many times it gets worn out. Everytime you turn the key on, the face rolls and that's more wear and tear. They don't last as long as some do. I had one of those Alpine din and a third (CDA-7897) that was worn out in 6 months. The gears that moved the faceplate out and up were grinding real bad and sometimes it would get hung up.

I worked in a stereo shop that sold Clarion, Alpine, and Pioneer. The Clarion units are'nt as flashy as the Pioneers, but they are known to last the longest. In 4 years there were about 20 of them that came back. We sold at least 20 in 2-3 weeks, so think of how many of those are still good... Also, the Clarion cd players are easy to operate so you don't lose your concentration by trying to adjust the bass. Pioneers are a bitch to make adjustments on. I don't have any complaints about Alpine, but they are just so damn expensive. You don't get much for the dollar with them.

If you haven't bought anything by the first of the year, hit me up. I'm picking up Clarion Pro Audio so I should be able to get you anything you want. I also have Stinger install accessories, Micro alarms, monitors, remote starts, and I have a company that sells cellular handsfree kits and mounts.
