I'm gonna make this simple, some people on this board are being dicks. Those people I'm talking about are the ones who rag on newcomers for wasting there time or asking stupid questions, give me a break, its only a webboard. Let me remind u that at one point u were a newcomer and didn't know the ins and outs of this board. I remember when I first started posting here in search of good information everyone was very helpful, I was never ragged on even though some of my questions were pretty dumb. This seems to have changed, a lot of guys seem to be getting impatient and just plain rude.

What I wanna say is for those guys who are being dick faces remember that ur not Einstein so keep ur attitude in check and help people out rather than being cocky. For people who have no clue what I'm talking about this post does not apply to u. Don't forget were all here to help each other out.....

I have noticed people have been showing their *** a lot more on the board. I guess when people are behind a keyboard their ***** double in size.
So how about this...

If you show your *** instead of providing helpful tech support, the mods are going to dock your % and might even provide you with a nice new title.

Agreed. If you don't have something useful to say don't say it at all. I think it'a all well and good to direct people to the search function, but do so with the information in hand.

I don't appreciate being called a "dickface." Who are YOU to talk **** to anyone? I just feel that if someone can speak english, then they should be able to TYPE it also. While you're at it, why can't you just spell out words... are you too lazy? Ack, nevermind. I don't want to start anything that's non-tech related.

But I do have this to say:
Some people complain that we don't answer their questions, when they rarely give any information for us to answer it with.

I have no problem with a helpful post with a touch of sarcasm...sometimes people are asking for it. But pointless use of hammers and insults have no place.

Sometimes people need to be 'told', but it's a fine line. Exercise restraint and respect. PS rules updated.

We're all realtivly intelligent people here (I am , however, the lowest common denominator); therefore, sarcasm is a natural product, if you will, of an intelligent individual. You've all got to admit that the guy with the "...what would it take to put an s2000 engine in 5th gen..." is a total ******* tool, and is probably just posting the question b/c his "other" extremities are otherwise fatigued from jacking off his only, functioning, apendage. You guys followin' ?
On the other hand, I haven't got any ***** left... my ex took the remnants of the last pair I had, and she isn't coming back, so I can't make something out of nothing. Moving on...
The only gripe I've got with the focus of this forum, is that it seems skewed to the drag racing , ultimate power mentality out of , for what all intents and purposes' is Honda's entry level GT car. I guess I'm biased, and don'tenjoy reading about stereo installs, altezzas & 1/4 mile times.
At any rate, I agree that being an obvious ******* is a little boring, and rude. But, being a benign, and cunning *******, can add to the flavor of our little "community," no?

BTW the joke about correcting other people’s grammar and spelling is getting old and in my opinion is pretty juvenile. Post in a forum you identify best with. e.g. I mainly use my Prelude for daily drive, auto-x, and trials, so naturally I have more of an interest to post in the auto-x/roadrace forum.
So people who have 1/4 miles related question go to the drag racing forum.
People who have auto-x related question go to the auto-x forum.

 

alot of these smart *** responses are coming from mods usually right before the lock, and hearing mods in the lude forum say things such as "preludes suck" is just ******* pathetic. Im not gonna mention any names, its one imperticular, and its not been directed towards me, so im not bitching, just telling how it is.

 

If a newbie came on and said hey i was thinking about putting an ITR engine in my prelude S .... why flame him to death ??

tell him its been discussed, use the search function and ... I'm not gonna hate on you but its better to build up a JDM H22 than go through that work.

Why hate on somebody because they just dont know ??? I totaly agree with this and there is a lot of people bashing on newbs or what they think are "stupid" questions.

The majority of the time I leave a smart-*** reply is because we as mods are sick of the same 'is my prelude better faster then a geo metro' type of thread. Some of you act like kids, so we deal with you like kids. It's called 'tough love.'

The majority of the time it is all in good fun directed towards some of my friends posts.... like an inside joke. Don't take it so personal, ok? Do you really believe I think prelude's suck when I drive one?

I've read some people being complete dicks to newcomers and some people being helpful...If you don't want to help the person out, then don't post...When I first came to this board, people always helped me out..I still see alot of helpful post, but I'm starting to see more haters on the board

 

I was simply happy to post a reply to which I thought best displayed my attitude towards this topic. A *yawn*, which I think showed my boredom and contempt at all of the mindless bickering going on and chest puffing by certain people in charge, or those who think they should be without further agitating the situation.

Since it was deleted because it was deemed "post whoring" I'll extend my response as such to further portray my emotions at being called a "dickface."

I help in this forum. I answer questions, I give thoughts and opinions, and I have been here a long time. I have seen hundreds of people come and go, and I myself have come and gone, and come back. I have designed a certain attitude towards people who post mindnumbing sentences that make no coherent effort at English to gather a more proper informative post from them.

By pointing out that a certain poster ignores specific RULES and GUIDELINES with a rude response (as set forth and only sometimes enforced by certain such moderators that feel I "post *****") I am making a statement that is no less or worse than the beginning offender, but DOES elicit an awareness from someone who might have otherwise ignored "READ THIS BEFORE POSTING."

As for being rude towards those who cannot complete sentences without causing people to rush to the bathroom for aspirin, the original poster will either leave, or will think twice and post back with the required information needed, in such a manner that can be understood, to answer his or her question.

To sum up my post, I am sometimes a "dick" because it forces others to respond in a thread that otherwise would simply be ignored, or forgotten. My posts are ultimately helpful, and contribute to Honda-Tech's well being. Those who deem otherwise may feel free to take that up with moderators who are outside this situation and we will handle it via IM.

The reasoning behind this post was really not to single anyone out Todd, ur not the only person who does these kinda things. I just think we should be more patient with each other thats all. I don't think this thread has to go on any longer and request someone lock it pls. I think the point was made and I'm sorry if I offended anyone, all I ask is next time u reply to someone double check to make sure its how u'd want somone to answer ur post, stupid or not, we don't all posses the same intellect.
