I will give you the basics first.
I just had a new engine installed. A gsr bottom end(itr pistons) with a 97 itr head installed with a new clutch and flywheel.
After 2000km I took it out tonight and hammered on it a little further than before. I actually reached 7800rpm on my gsr ecu, but didn't hit redline. It pulled like crazy! Just so you know.
Any way as I hit around 7200-7300rpm at full throttle my speedo all of a sudden the speedo went from around 100(lets say) to 200-220 and then bounced off 220km like it would a rev limiter but the car still pulled like normal to 7800rpm until I cut it off. I thought it could be the winter tires loosing traction but it isn't as I tested that theory out and the tires were not losing traction.
I am looking for ideas at the moment. I am going to be replacing my computer very soon with a P28, just so you know.
I placed a grounding kit on my car and that is about it for the new things done, just want to give you the details. It didn't do this before the swap...
