NEW PISTONS ON HONED SLEEVES!!!
Does anybody think that this can be done on a 5 gen h22? i have my stock block sitting in my garage. i put a used short block in my car and oil just gets burning. Before i put the block in my car i put just new total seal rings in. that i think was a mistake. last week i dynoed my car and the numbers were horrible. so i was thinking about getting the old block bored and then putting in new honda pistons and rings. can this be done???? if so what size pistons? majestic honda sells os 0.25 pistons will these work?
#1. Learn to type correctly
#2. What was wrong with your old block?

Typos are not that important to me! what is important is getting help.
My old block had very low compression #'s. so i bought the new block. the reason i asked about the pistons from honda is that i don't want to make another mistake. i also was wondering about how thick the coating is on the walls?

**** up with typo's and we might **** up and give you wrong advice. Think about it for a half second braniac.
What do the sleeves look like? Are they scored with gouges, or just show some wear? Low compression numbers are generally caused by failing compression rings. Why bother boring, you may just need to hone them out, and put new rings on the pistons that you have.

If you put in the new rings without a surface hone they will not seat with the cylinder. That would explain the horrible dyno and oil burning. The 0.25 os pistons are .010" oversize, and I have never seen a Honda motor need more than a .010" overbore. Personally, I think you would be fine with a surface hone and a new set of rings, unless the block had 150k+ miles on it.

I would look into running wiseco piston rings, they are very nicely designed and work great. What did you set your ring end gaps to?

run honda rings.... .25 oversize type-s pistons might be a good option... I've heard bad things about total seal rings from numerous people but then again this may be rumors, I would just get honda rings anyways.

and with an H22a that's all you can do..the FRM bore is only .20" thick so anything larger than 0.10 is structurally not good.
