well guys i have a 2k si and i have the jrsc with the standard 6psi pulley problem is i want more power and ive been told i can only run 8psi with stock internals . tell me what should i get. the water injection kit from jr and run the 8psi pulley or should i just upgrade my internals and run 12psi. and what internals should i get and what kinda power can i expect to get from either setup. i will be getting for sure the handata ecu and rc 440 cc injectors. i already have the 160 degree thermo and my car runs coo.more power needed.

 

please don't run more then 8lbs without a intercooler setup of some sort. JRSC at 10 lbs make enough heat to flake your teflon coating off your blower rotors, I know I bought one that it had been done to. Aim for 8lbs and the nwork from there.

 

okay so if i get the water injection kit from jackson u think ill be able to run the 11 psi or 10 pulley wichever it is i forget

Stock B16As are very strong. They can handle 10-12 psi with no problem, The fuel managment is a must.
I have plenty of 10-12psi B16As ruuning around ,The only time I see engine failure is due to bad tunning.
Buy some kind of managment before the Liqiud injection, Then get it tuned.

 

yeah im getting the hondata s200 ecu before i ad a pulley or water injection. do you think that will be enough or should i go a different ecu.

 

sorry turbos are coo but i like the fact that u cant see my sc without checking inside my hood . plus i dont really race as much and well sc is best for my lifestyle.

I agree

You can't see a turbo inside a car unless you open the hood either. If its the intercooler your refering to, just spray paint it black. Running a turbo at 8 psi will probably get you more power than a supercharger at 10 psi.

Thanks for the input but that was irrelevant to the question

Of course engine management is a must and it will be hard to keep it out of detenation and still make power up top without water injection or some other style with cooling properties.

well thanx guys i just ordered my hondat from moss and well unfortunately ist on backorder but none the less i think the 1400 was worth it and well see after i install it a trip to the dyno will be next and ill go from then

 

as for the lht intercooler a little to pricy and time consuming for me right now but ill consider it along the line and maybe around summer time ill see if i wanna go ahead and get that done.

i'm running a jackson racing at 12psi (on the autometer guage that is). I'm probably running 9-10psi actually. running a 3in short ram, 2.25" header and cat back combo. It feels great but heat soak is definately an issue at this psi. When i first warm up the car and take it for a spin, it pulls straight to redline, do this a couple of times and you can feel the car lose power. not dramatically but it just doesn't pull to redline like it did the first time when the car first warms up. I installed a hondata and it was tuned on the conservative side so it runs great. i didn't want a bad *** turbo car where I have to fix things all the time nor do I have the funds for that sort of project. this is a college car that's fun to drive on city streets and is absolutely reliable. the only thing i have done is change the belts every 10,000 - 15,000 miles and plugs and oil every 3,000 miles. a jrsc can be had for cheap and is a great introduction into the world of forced induction. the key is tuning it and installing everything correctly.

I hope it came with alot more than that for $1400.

Hondata S200B is $495, straight from Hondata, RC 440's are about $275 themselves...

 

I ran 12psi for a few months.

Not bad unless you like shoving 240º Air into your motor. lol...

Don't go over 9psi please.

 

I'm running 6psi right now on my blown B18C1 with Hondata and let me tell you it is worth it with tuning. The Hondata unit is such a great piece of mind to have and the ability to tune it makes it worth it's weight in gold.

Get a Hondata and you will never be disappointed.

 

well that is all it came with but like it said its already tuned to my aplication and i am only runing 6psi at the moment and i only plan on running 8 until i gte an intercooler set up. it should run great with the hondata because right now i have nothing installed as far as electronic tuning in my car just the blower .has anybody here purchased the hondata from jackson?

 

I ran 11psi and was seeing 220f intake temps and EGT's of nearly 1400f at WOT. Not good for keeping detonation at bay, however, when I took the engine apart, the internals were all super clean.

12 psi is a bit high without any sort of cooling methods, but it can be done. Just not for very long

 

If you want more power you dont necessarily just have to get more boost! P&P the head w/ some nice cams and then if you want more boost i would only go to around 8psi and w/ cams, P&P head youll feel the power gain still at 6 psi. Its not about PSI..its about power..determine your power goals and then go from there!
