Default Just did my first mod!

Well i finally took the chance and installed the aem cai on my car. Since i have no money left, i couldn't afford to install it. Dang is this thing sweet at wot! I never knew what i was missing out on.....I also got a bypass valve on it too cause i'm paranoid. But my question is, i'm not sure if i installed it right. I used only used one of the hoses that came in the package...Is that right? I mean there was only one hole for the cai and i connected that with a hose to the thing my stock airbox was connected too. Also, my a/c lines are running really close to the cai. Should i be worried? My a/c lines seem to be protected by this black soft cushioning thing, doesn't seem like it can rub through.

Congrats. I was suprised when I first got it as well. I was so happy I forgot to check that ac line that you were talking about. At first I used electrical tape and made a patch on the aem but then it fell off and the line started to eat at the intake. I shoulda figured this out at first, just take an instant-tie and tie the two hoses together, they will never rub again.

One hose should go from the nipple of the cai to the breather inlet from around the back portion area of the valve cover. The thicker hose should go from the throttle body to the inlet on bottom front area by the valve cover where coolant comes from. I'm not too sure if this is exactly right cause I haven't done it in a while, so someone please correct me. I don't think the hose that goes to the throttle body is all that necessary if you don't live in a cold climate, cause all it does is delivers coolant to the throttle body. It might even be considered a slight mod if you don't hook it up cause the throttle body stays cooler or something. Again, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Is it alright if i used the thicker hose to connect the nipple of my cai to the top area by the valve cover? I was having trouble fitting the small tube on, and i just used the clamps to make it tighter. Seems to work. I drove my car around for 30 minutes and everything seems fine. It's just that when i went to try to start my car, it took a little longer than usual. Is this normal?
