Since my DSM injector install and hondata tune everything has been running smoothly besides the little injector startup issue (car is a touch hard to start sometimes, but always cranks) that a lot seem to have with DSM's. Anyway I was fixing to leave from a friends house (a 1hr drive) when I noticed my gas was a little low, I could have easily made it home but I decided to pull anyway and fill he up. As I was driving to the station I had noticed the car smelled like gas, more than usual that is
, but I didn't think much about it. Well I finally filled the car up and popped the hood to check the oil. The gas smell hit me pretty hard as I looked to see that two of my injectors were leaking gas onto the manifold
. I tried messing around in the gas station but that only caused more gas to spray out. I drove the car back to my friends place praying I wouldn't go up in flames..
Well today I pulled injectors to see that my o rings were destroyed, probably from me installing the injectors into the manifold first then clamping the fuel rail on top which pinched them and eventually caused them to seperate under pressure and heat. So basically that is a techincal way of saying it was my fault because I'm retarded.
Thankfully my friend works for CAT so we stopped by and he grabbed an O ring set and some CAT 90psi gasket sealer. Took the old O rings off, applied some seal to the notches, slapped in new rings, then put another coat on the outside and slapped the injectors in (rail side first this time). Car is running leak free now and injectors have a custom bling JDM orange sealer paint job yo!

lol. Same thing happened to me. I had my injectors our during the summer and the next day after the re-install I'm sitting at light, going "whew, it smells like gas". Stop into Shell, look under the hood and see gas pouring out two of the injectors. Decide to brave it and drive it home (~5 minutes away) fully expecting to win a Darwin award because of this unnecessary risk, but somehow made it home safe.
Had the one of the guys installing my paver patio run me to the local autoparts store and purchased some o-rings, reinstalled and the car was fine for two days.
Since I was an idiot and only replaced the o-rings which appeared damage, I left two in that appeared okay. We'll they of course failed on my way home from work (~30 minutes from home) a couple days later and I limped to my brothers shop turning the car off, coasting to stops and sitting with the car off at lights. Being the genius that I am, I had taken out the spare o-rings I bought and left them at home (even though I carried them in the car the day before), yet I was smart enough to leave the socket and a rag in the back seat for the removal of the fuel rail.
I had to run to another local autoparts store in my brother's car this time to buy more o-rings. Reinstalled and the car has been okay ever since.

austin gave me a tip. lightly oil the o-ring. I went through 8+ o rings on the injector to fuel rail portion.
then double o-ringed my rc injectors and oiled up the rings and everything is gravy now

I did that... when i pulled the head on my 91 i didnt replace the injector o-rings, and of course they were old, and the process of removal+reinstall they failed.
Of course mine werent spewing fuel, they'd just leak a tiny bit.

I already experience the burn of one integra burning, it definatly would not be my arr that i drive with leaking fuel.....

had a friend with a boosted gsr drive around for almost a week knowing he had a fuel leak, I personally think it is hard to acctually start a fire from it, seeing that I saaw the leak with my 2 eyes(puddles of fuel on the IM), and the fact that it did not ignite, leads me to my statement. I personally dont want to proove any points by demonstration, but glad to see your car made it alright

Well I had already driven over 100mi that day so I didn't think the 2mi back to the house so I could actually fix the car was pushing it that much. Even so it was very stupid.
By the way it was spaying fuel, it only did that when I wiggled the injectors. It was just wetting the injectors and creating little pools of gas on the manifold
which is waaaay safer
.
Even though the problem is fixed I found myself constantly stopping and checking just to be sure "one more time".
< paranoid of fire now

Damn Brock, you are really testing the waters with that ITR. Good luck to you, hopefully it will be running soon.
