Thought you guys might like these pics.....
This was taken from a lunch-on-the-track type of day. I always like seeing cars meant for the track on the track, so I figured if any of you like that too, then here is a picture to enjoy...
As a side note, after a few laps, the NSX got passed. During the final few laps, it was a good battle between the MR2 and NSX, but the MR2 held him off.

Nice pic but the drivers/passengers aren't wearing any helmets. That's quite odd. All of the clubs/organizations I've run with require a helmet when on the racetrack unless it's a parade lap.
It is a rather large pic - good pic - but a large pic. And what's up with OTing w/o helmets but with a rollbar? Parade lap?
Yeah, the picture is huge, I apologize. I cannot figure out how to shrink it without programs that I don't have. So, for the 56k users, sorry. However, how do you afford an NSX and not have a broadband? Just kidding.
As for the lack of helmets, it is what is called "Touring Laps". For these, you don't have to meet any safety requirements. They basically take place during lunchtime in between the races at this particular track. There is a pace car that you're not supposed to pass, and you can only pass others in the straight aways, which there are 2. However, I passed the pace care because I was getting sick of going 60 mph down the straight. So, this is pre-pace care pass. I also passed the NSX while passing the pace car. A few laps later, they pulled into the pits to swtich drivers, and at some point they caught back up. So, that should explain the confusion.

Doesn't this defeat the purpose of touring lap?

Not really. It still is nowhere near a full out race. The main purpose why most of us signed up for the touring laps that day was to get our cars on a track where we could do what we wanted, within reason, without getting pulled over. Some years the pace cars go faster, sometime slower. I just got unlucky for the first few laps before I got in front if the pace car.
Ahem, you PASSED the pace car in what's basically a "Ride Around Drive Around?"
Remind me never be on the same track as you or at the very least never to attend an event where they actually allow someone to do that.

based on what do you call that a pace car?

Supposedly if you were to print them out as a file, they would be something like 4 feet by 6 feet. I tried to resize them on my computer, but obviously I had no luck.
As for the pictures that were being requested, I'm thinking you wanted pictures of the pass???? If so, I only have pictures from the first few laps because that is how long my friend was taking pictures from the side, after that he stopped photographing and took a nap.
