What would be wrong with my car if my idle is just under 1K? before it was in between the 500-1000. is it maybe because i need a valve adjustment? because in about 2 month, i am going for my 100k tune up. I own a 95 4dr gsr. is there anything i need to kno

100k....change your t belt if hasnt been changed...all your belts while your at it...flush radiator, change water pump. Change plugs, caps and rotor if their still the factory ones. Check plug wires and change if necessary. Change motor oil and transmission oil. About your idle, if your headlights are on the idle will usually rest a little higher. When my cars warmed up it idles at about 4-600 rpm and doesnt bounce. When headlights are on...it idles at about 800rpm. Hope this helps.

 

If you want to raise or lower your idle, just adjust the screw on the throttlebody located at the upper left hand corner where it can only be adjusted with a flat head screwdriver. Clockwise will raise the idle and Counter-Clockwise will lower the idle. As for the tune up follow 1998_4dr_gsr's recommendations. Sounds good to me

thank you any more things for my to check? also waht things can i get to make my car run better. is tehre a problem with my car for why it is running a higher idle now? before it was around 750 . i have no mods done other than intake and exhaust but idle was fine,. just out of nowhere the idle was at 1k.
