Default car running, but bad idle and loud rattling

okay, so i just got my car back from the shop that did my IC piping. the car idles bad, but i guess because the hack, but the thing that is getting me is it rattles like hell. sounds like its coming from my trunk area but the exhaust is just rattling the **** out of the car. anybody know what could it be? could it be a bad cat converter? when i say loud, i mean ****** loud! and irritating. and its at every rpm level, idle, all the way to 4000, but it starts drowning out at like 3000...its worst at idle. any help would be appreciated!

Did it do this before the shop touched it? If not, I smell a lawsuit.

first thing i would check is the heat shielding and make sure it's connected tightly. that stuff will rattle like no other and sound terrible.....and it's just a few wimpy lil 10 mm bolts that didn't get tightened enough.

if that's not it, take it back and tell them to fix their obvious bad work.
