Can automatic P72 be remapped

Can automatic P72 be remapped
I got this extra ECU and a friend of mine needs a ECU for his 5th gen DX. He just got a jdm B16 (manual) and doesn't want to wait for a P30. Is that P72 a good candidate for remapping?
