B16 ECU QUESTION
Well my B16 in my crx has been running allright so I took it to the track, needless to say I am very disappointed with the times. A Guy who owns a local shop suggested that the ECU might be from an automatic B16. Does anyone know how to tell the difference between the two.
The revlimiter should kick in around 8200rpm. On auto ECU's it kicks in around 7600-7800. Also, if you take off the ECU cover and look at the small circuit board(knock sensor board), it should say MT on one of the corners. If it says AT then you have an auto ECU.
what time did you get? what other mods do you have? ur time depends on circumstances as well...like shifting, excesive wheelspin, launch, blah blah blah...i'm pretty sure you heard it all before
i was also disappointed my first time up to the track with the b16 in my crx...i clocked a best time of 15.3 w/ i/h/e , fields-vtec, and cam gears....but i spun alot of rubber

First times at the track are always disappointing... I ran a 15.5 first run
. Sure felt faster though!
Tonight I ran a worst time of 17.87
. Hooray for missed shifts!

Hey 97 typeR thanks for the reply. I took off the cover and sure enough it had an AT on the small circuit board in the corner, well I guess that will take care of my problem. Anyone know where I can get another ECU for a good price?
