Default h22 tranny vs. h23 tranny

I read the specs on them but not to sure what exactly im reading. How much difference is there between the h23 vs. the h22 tranny. I am having trouble getting a h22 for a descent price and my question here is that if i get the h23 how much difference is there gona be as far as 1/4 mile times. If there is not gona be a huge difference then im ok with it but right now im running a f23 tranny wich is super long and i fall out of vtec by 1000k rpms so will the h23 keep me in vtec when i shift.

Yo, I have a 4th gen lude and due to money issue I stayed with my H23 tranny after the H22 swap. I can't really tell you the different between a H22 and H23 tranny, but so far my H22 feels fine. I've been told and I do believe that when I get a H22 tranny it should accelerate faster, but how much?? nobody seems to have a solid answer.

Right now I'd rather save my money, $700 can be used on some other mod that actually gives hp. And if I ever consider going FI, then it would be a waste of money investing on a H22 tranny.

I haven't got a chance to take it to the track yet, since I always had to work the days when tracks are open. To be honest, like satan srv said, I'm sure my car will be a little quicker if I use a h22 tranny. I don't think I make less hp right now, but it accelerates a little slower. I can't tell you by how much, I haven't met anyone in town with a H22 tranny and similar mod on a 4th gen to race. If someone would lend me a H22 tranny I would take it to the track and test it out. Eventually I will get a H22 tranny, but with the limited resources, it is on a lower priority right now. But in your case, since your tranny is working still, I would wait till you have more money to get a H22 tranny, in the long run u save money on labor this way. But it's just my opinion.

About my mod:
AEM cold air intake
RC Engineering 68mm TB
match ported intake manifold
ported cylinder head by collective racing (2point6)
crower stage II cams soon ( anyone have a pair for sale?)
JDM H22a block
smsp header prototype #1 will be put in within next 2 weeks. ( right now I have DC header )
custom 2 1/4" cat-back with high flow cat-converter ( will be changed to 2.5" when install header)
some very minor weight reduction

Oh yeah, by the way, I know how it is to have a F22 tranny, my brother had the setup like that (he has a H22 accord), until recently the tranny broke and he got a h23 tranny; the car finally accelerate like a prelude, rpm goes up quicker, it even sound alot different, this doesn't make sense but for some reason his exhaust sounds a lot deeper now, oh yeah, and when vtec kicks in, he can finally feel the pull, before, we couldn't even tell when vtec had kicked in. You don't need numbers to tell H23 tranny made a big different.
Maybe you can use this example, then compare the gear ratio between F22, H23, H22 to get a general idea about how difference between H23 and H22.

I love my F22 trans..... I dont think you can beat it for traction, can't say enough about it, when my setup was first done (about a year n a half ago) i still had my h23 trans, and the thing ran like hell at 7psi, then i broke that trans........ got a f22 trans, thought it was slow as ****........ but then changed setups slighty, and on 12psi, it was AMAZING...... i think my perfect tranny would be a f22 w/ h22 final gear....... my new setup (coming soon, its almost finals week, gimme a break) will run the F22 trans...... with my "homemade" gears

But for you, i'd say H22 all the way...... sorry for the rant
