The corners and tailights on my hatch are dull and seem to have a film over them. Ive tried to wash it off but its gonna take some scrubbin'. My friend told me to use sandpaper to shine them up. Will this work and if so what grit should i go with?

 

get like 2000 grit sand paper and wet sand them and then buff and polish
