I am about to purchase a 89-93 old school integra. Im not exaclty sure about the years but you get the picture. It will have the b18 non-vtec engine.
I want to add a vtec head but i don know which one. This will be my daily driver.
What head will give me more horsepower? b16 or b18c1?
Which will be cheaper? b16 or b18c1?
anyone have any better ideas or combinations? Oh and this car will be stock for excpet a CAI and latter on i will add and exhaust.
But for now it will be my daily driver with only CAI
thanks.

Search.
There are WAY too many factors that go into building a good lv/vtec set up.
Just do your homework, and your questions will all be answered.

leave the ls/vtec for the experienced in engine building
cause you have no idea of what goes into it
for starters get a whole vtec swap wich is a good step for a beginer
like you.
then after you get the know how then think about it.
and you are thinking of boostin the ls/vtec
it is already hard to manage the fuel this set up
so imagine with a turbo and a daily driver.
good luck.
unless you do your homework and prove us wrong well

I don't think people are gonna feed you the info you need just cause you ask. You might want to put some effort into finding information out or else if you put your motor together with the same effort you are putting into researching right now, good luck...

I just searched and found 470 topics on this. Just read through those, you should find something in there. If not, then come back and ask.

if gonna keep the motor stock i would go with the b16a head lower compression cheaper get the first gen b16a. keep a low compression if your gonna ad a turbo in the future or if your gonna keep it all motor keep your compression under 12:1:1

they are all 1000+ results and most of them are just bullshit.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Have you ever used a search engine before??
If you want to get info on strickly ls/vtec then use parenthesis "". Putting in all the b/s you enter in the search engine without parenthesis' in will come back with all the results for 'ls', all the results for 'vtec', and 'noobie' or whatever **** you were trying to search. Without parenthesis's every word will be searched and results found. Try "ls/vtec" it will help narrow down your search.
