Ok..I have yet to do a compression test on my motor [D16Z6].
I have smoke when i first start my car up (a little more then normal)
While on WOT i get smoke also.. My motor has 97,000 Miles..Mods include I/H/E
Also the motor doesnt burn oil.
I plan on replacing my valve stem seals real soon.
Does anyone have any tips..or Write ups on the best and easiest way to do this without making it a big deal. Also should i buy oem valve stem seals or just pick some up from autozone, etc?
How much am i looking to pay for each seal?
We could use some help if anyone is local and i would be willing to pay you.
I live in knoxville,tn. TIA

Get OEM, they are 2 bux a peice give or rape from your dealer.
There is a special tools that my machine shop guy had that I used to put mine on, and take the old ones off.
I dont know how important it is to use that specific tool, but it sure made it easy to get them lined up and pounded on.

mostlikely the smoke is from bad RINGS not seals....i took my head off to put a 1 layer hg on and while i was at it put new valve stem seals in hoping that would fix problem...nope...it was the rings

Bad rings mean your burn oil to right?
My car doesnt burn any oil and it doesnt smoke constanly
just when i start it up (like maybe oil dropped into the combustion chambers over night by having bad valve stem seals) and after it warms up it doesnt really smoke
but then at WOT it smokes a little not a real lot but enough to notice.

They didn't charge me anything actually. With the head dissasembled and off the car. changing all of the valve seals on my dohc head took roughly 20 mins.
