i was wondering how many of you have done your own swap. i am not sure if i should attempt it or not. i was planning on putting a jdm gsr into a 92 cx. i know alot about the parts but not sure how hard it really is to actually do. let me know. thanks alot

i did mine with a friend in my garage. K20A2 swap. Lots of wiring, which was the only real hard part.
Like said above, do lots of research. Get all the parts you need before you even start. I didnt, and my swap took 2 months because i was mainly just waiting on parts that were needed.

I did my own stuff.
I don't let anyone touch my shiet for anything .
For some reason..I was under the impression that everyone here did their own swaps too...
Goes to show what a noob I am, I guess
You can do your own stuff. But like he said..do your homework and get the right tools and workplace or else it's real frustrating.

i wish i had time to do my swaps. (sohc zc in crx, h22 '94 dx, b18c ek). im not much of a hard core mechanic, so i know i would take a lot of time. but doing a swap is somthing i've always wanted to invest my time into; a great way to learn more about my own car. unfortunately, since i go to school and for the most part, work, i'd rather spend money on installation.

I did a b17a swap in my car and a jdm b18c into my friend's eg. The b17a was my first swap and it went really smoothly. Personally I think basic b series swaps are very easy. Of course there are always little hang-ups here and there. But thats how any project goes.
Like the others said, it basically depends on you. Not everyone can do it themselves, and there really isn't anything wrong with that. If you're mechanically inclined, have some experience working on cars, and know basic automotive stuff you should be fine. Just do your research, take your time, and make sure your budget is above what you think you'll need (just in case there are any unexpected mishaps). If you don't feel comfortable or don't really trust yourself doing it....then don't, it'd be better to have someone else do it right than you mess it up (of course its always a good thing to be able to learn from your mistakes, and if you never try you can't learn from them). So yeah, basically your call on this one.

Ive pulled out 2 motors and dropped one back in and got it running. It took me 1.5 days with a help from a buddy. Pulled out b20 and pulled out a b18a1 out of a donor and swapped it in. It was on a 90 LS. Motorswaps are pretty easy with a helms in hand or a guide.
I've taken my B16 out of my eg so many times, I've got it down to about a day. Get up halfway early (9ish), eat, swap, lunch, finish swap, test drive before dinner. Make sure everything as far as parts is at your disposal or else you going to take weeks, not days. HOMEWORK!!!
