Default Need: Accord Coupe OEM Spoiler

Just curious where I could find a painted coupe OEM spoiler for cheap. Also, I asked the parts division at a dealership- the spoilers @ the dealer comes with heavy duty springs. Does that matter? Do they come with when you buy OEM not from the dealer? Thanks for the info.

Yes, get the heavy duty springs. I've got an aftermarket "OEM replica" spoiler, from the dealer. The original owner put it on and didnt' get the heavy duty springs. Everytime I close the drunk, I have to worry about it slamming down and damaging the lid, or just making a really loud sound. Pay the extra money and get the good springs, it's worth it.

Oops, that "drunk" should be "trunk". The joy of college and the lack of sleep. By the way, my Accord is a 2dr 97 Lx, if that helps you at all.

Peace

Can you get the springs separately or does it have to be from dealer? Also, do they come with if you get aftermarket? Probably not huh? So maybe i'll just get dealer stuff

The dealer kit is really nice... comes with the springs, also comes with a Relay for the Antenna so that when you open the trunk with the radio on the antenna retracts so teh spoiler doesn't bend it. Also it comes with a template for mounting it.. Plus the color match is great. I got mine mail order from http://www.manhonda.com. Even with the heavy duty springs the trunk will slam oh and I strongly recommend buying the honda tool for removing the springs... those puppies are DANGEROUS! Good luck!

I did it myself the instructions were easy to follow.. the only scary part was wondering are these holes in the right place! But just get a very good tape measure and you should be good to go (metric) Also a centerpunch helps start the drilling process without having the bit skip all over the trunk lid which would be bad. But you just follow the directions and it's fairly easy. Springs are a pain but doable.
