Default needin' a lil help

alright, i've been reading a lot of forums about the comptech supercharger. i've noticed from other peoples times that its been said to run 12.7 to 13.3. with nothing but that supercharger kit. i noticed the guy who ran 12.7 ran in CO i guess cuz its cold and your up in the mountains i dunno. and this other guy who ran 12.7 launched at like 7000rpm but within the two times he did that he blew his clutch. this one guy said if i open up my gears then i'd be well into the high 12's or really really low 13's. I want to make my car into the 12's without badly hurting my tranny or anything part of my car... cuz its my baby and i'm just broke at the moment... so what do you think i should do?

Default Re: needin' a lil help (scs2k)

If he ran a 12.7 in Colorado with just a SC he is a liar. Ive installed several chargers up here and I live at the track. The best SC S2000 Ive seen up here is a 13.9 car. (with a good driver I might add) Our track is at 6000 feet and SC cars are slower here to boot. If you want your car to go 12s you better plan on breaking something. The stock clutch will not hold very long at that power level.
Its better to be prepared for something to break then to just hope that it wont and then be royally screwed when it does.
