Default crank pulley power results

Is getting a new crank pulley worth it. Becuase i already have a manual steering rack so would it be worth getting as lighter crank pulley and if so which was is the best, and which one is the most reliable( weighted correctly) for my 95 ls

Stock one is the most reliable, unless you want to spend the money to get a fluidyne, ATI, etc

Most of the aftermarket crank pulleys don't have a pulse dampener. People debate back in forth about whether or not it will have a dramatic effect on your engines life. If you are looking for reliable you might not want to risk getting an aftermarket one like the Unorthedox.

If you are looking to save rotational mass, the flywheel is a better place to start than the crank pulley. (unless you already have one, of cource).

i would say yes getting a lightened crank pulley is worth it... i have the set of 3 pullies on my B18B and i love them. The P/S and Alt. pullies give very very little gains but the crank pulley is definetly the one to get. If you do, go with Unorthodox Racing and NOT AEM!!!! They make great products but have heard nothing good about there pullies. UR is much better

I've got the Honda N1 CTR Crank pulley. Just runs the alternator, nothin' else. I like it, I don't know how much power I gained from it. but I like the feel of the road better without power steering.

any suggestions where to buy a crank pulley from?and will having a lightened flywheel(8.8 lbs) be too much on the engine? Because from what I've heard is that when you make too many parts lighter it decreases the engine life.

They sell sliced and rebalanced stock pullies, that way you can keep your stock dampener.

dh-racing.com has an awesome crank pulley for honda/acura motors. Bisi uses it on his all motor sohc monster.

Very much so. With all the power steering and a/c removed b series motors gain 5-7 whp. If intrested I sell DHR products. Hit me up at fastguyzc@yahoo.com.

Honda pulleys have a harmonic dampener for a reason. 2-3 hp if that is not worth it in my opinion. Check out sohfast.com, Jerome sells lightened factory ones. for a daily driver it's best.

The harmonic dampener reduces vibrations in the block which reduces stress on the bearings etc... Good to have for daily driver.

You are not going to find solid proof.

Basicly look into pulse dampening, and decide for yourself if it sounds worth it.

On a side note, the CTR does not have a pulse dampener on its crank pulley.

I have used the dh-racing.com for years and have sold alot of them without any problems. Bisi has used the dhr unti on all his motors with no problems.
