Help: Wiring - underdash...
hey guys, my recovered 97 R project is under way and i came across a wiring problem. Due to the fact that the thieves took all my under dash wiring/fuse circuitry, I am left to wonder what am i going to put back in there? is it possible to just find another Integra (maybe Civic?) dash wiring harness of equal obd, or can i go completely obd-1 with all the same stuff? i have access to a 98 LS automatic full under dash junk, but i dont know if it'll work....
If i am able to go obd-1 complete harness (i already have a 95 GSR engine harness and a p28 ecu) will the P28 recognize my ABS system in the same way my ITR ecu would?
And finally, i searched on this but none were exactly the same threads...what year JDM cluster will i need?....i dont have one to switch things from (film or guages) so im stumped. i guess that will all depend on what wiring harness i end up being able to use.....
ANY info on this will help greatly. ....thanks....................

So you are trying to rewire totally odb-1?
I would assume that any equivalent year's integra under dash harnesses would work.. going between odb-1 and 2 gets a little shakey for me..

Mark, I'm not exactly trying to rewire to obd-1, just looking for the easiest way to HAVE wiring...whatever it takes.
Congrats on the new R re-purchase....I guess yours was a little more complete huh?

i have a complete 99 integra ls manual parts car that i need some parts from. still have the complete underdash harness leading upto the ecu if you're interested.
wiring would be the same, all you would need to do is add the wires for the vtec system to engage.

this route would probably be the easiest and cheapest....

ah.. gotcha.. I don't think the cluster will matter between OBD1 and OBD2.. not 100% sure, but i can't think of anything that would be dependant on one or the other..
yeah, i think my R came a little more complete than yours.. still cool either way though! good luck!

I just called Hasport and threw my dillema at them. they said that it would not matter if i use an LS harness, they also added that i can go all obd-1, just to worry about smog legalities. ABS will have no ill effects regardless of which way i go. thanks again for all who posted...................

why not get a standalone harness?

A full stand alone? im not sure how that would work, you see I have zero wiring harness under the dash. so if i understand what you mean...create a whole new one?
