What kind of alarms do you have?
Well the bottom line is I'm looking for alarm system for car, but I Dont know which one to use. I was wondering if you guys can post what kind of alarm you have and if you feel like it is worht it to you. I don't want to buy something like the aladdin 2000 or whatever cause I've had it before on my other ITR and I thought it was cool, but a bunch of crap. Yes I know about kill swithces and fuel cutoffs. But anyways just alarms not switches.
Thanks guys!!!
Thanks guys!!!
The new Clifford RS 2.5 might work for you. 2-way remote and such w/the basic features and expandability via DEI parts.
The most important part of an alarm is the quality of the installation, remember that!
Another thing, if you're trying to protect your car, layering is key. Independent kill switches and such are a good thing, if not required.

I have a full grown 150lb Rottwieler/German Shepard.
You know what, I honestly will hand over the keys to my car if a theif can get through my neighborhood without getting shot by the drug dealers and crackhead. Luckily does drug dealers don't steal cars.

I can get you any model Code Alarm (kick ***) or Astroflex.. The code alarm rocks, as it has really good distance, and has a remote starter function, a whole bunch of stuff that's really un needed, but is a nice conversation piece. Oh, and it works really well too.
Power lock is a good alarm for the car... Also any high end clifford or Code Alarm is good.. Be warned some Code Alarms are rebadged as Chapman systems.
The newest Alpine alarms are great... I highly recommend them..
I used to have a clifford avante guard in my old 2k ITR but I paid about $1400 installed (with remote start) AND had the brain fry on me twice so I dont look too highly of Clifford anymore...

I have no alarm system except common sense.
If you live or travel somewhere that theft is a concern, I am not sure that any amount of money spent on an alarm is going to do any good.

I agree with George, but you have to admit common sense isn't too common.

I have an alarm in my truck that will call your cell phone or whatever phone system that you have as soon as the alarm goes off within 10 seconds. You need a T-mobile 3390 phone hook up to the alarm system in the car. I got the basic plan on the T-mobile which is $19.99 a month. I have a T-Mobile inside the car and my regular cell which I carry everywhere I go. I think is the best alarm system out there, my older brother is a distributor in the US for this alarm system. Let me know if you want one.

The bad thing that i see with the GPS system , is that it works with the alarm. Once they cut the alarm the GPS is activated, but what happens if they dont cut the alarm and the car is taken
or if the car is tow away and the alarm is not disactivated ....Then GPS is not much of an issue to a thief....

I am trying to get a hold of a Big Black Guy Called Ben - but nobody seems to carry him anymore.
Seems the ITR is impossible to protect if somebody really wants it bad enough. Soon they'll just use a big magnet and a helicopter.
When I read about the "Stolen R's" here - I wish you guys had rigged a pound of C4 to the seats.. That way - they (or whats left of them) are going to think twice before stealing another Arr..

none.
3 years (next week) and 59,967 miles with out issues
:knocks his woody:
no need to hack wires just to have someone rip the alarm out when they steal the car.
garage + beater = safe ITR
