S2000 Motor in a 89 CRX? Possible?
i have a b16a1 Swap in rex, but i want somethin different......would a s2000 motor be possible to swap in?? If anybody knows of any pics of a rex with one with info on 1/4 times or w/e let me kno
if you want to switch to RWD and have the resources to fab up the stuff to make it work, it wouldnt be a problem....but since your asking people on the net if you could do it then im guessing you dont. So no for you its not possible.

It's possible if you have the money. RWD conversion is neither easy nor cheap. Someone did it in a '92-95 Si hatch show car and they were running 15s or high 14s I believe (obviously couldn't drive). Don't know what sort of suspension setup they were running - probably some cheap custom job that made the car handle like ***.
One company was making bell housing adapters so that a K-series FWD transmission could be used with the F20C engine. This would be the easiest way, but it would still take a lot of money and fabrication. Not to mention, the car still wouldn't be as fast as you're thinking it would be; you'd probably be better off just trying to swap a K-series which would be cheaper and almost as quick.
What is so great about the S2000 engine? Not much. The S2000 roadster is not just an engine, it is a total package. Just dumping the engine into another car isn't going to make you a mini-S2000.

No it isn't. The swap has been done. There are dyno videos of this car elsewhere on H-T.

NOPE. That is def. not a photoshop job. He is a member here on H-T and has several pics of it AND movies of it running. (It hauls...) THere is now a mount kit available to make this all possible as well.

S2000 motor turns the opposite direction as the FWD engines they produce, which is backward to most other cars too. Short a custom RWD fab its NOT gonna work.

Like I said, there was one company working on a bell housing adapter that would allow an F20C to be mated to a K-series transmission.
K-series engines turn clockwise, like the F20C.

You are right, I missed that somehow when I scrolled down the thread. But then with the S2000 prices a K20 is far more economical to build. True a lot f B stuff fits the S2000 motor but cams are gonna be a limiting factor due to the rotation issues.
Exactly, I say he'd be better off just building a K-series. I've seen naturally aspirated K20s easily modded to S2000 horsepower levels.
