Default Disabling/bypassing the ignition key in a CRX

i would like to know how thieves disable the ignition or bypass using the key when they steal a crx. before you guys think im asking for future ill intentions, im just curious since my car was stolen and i got it back last week, you can read about it in my sig. it seems they messed with my ignition so that you really dont need a key to turn it freely. actually my key could only be inserted halfway, and would only go between positions 1-3, but not the zero-release position. i figured the thief stuck something inside the ignition to jump the circuit and then somehow forced it in the ON position. so i was gonna leave it this way until i got around to opening up the ignition keylock and fix it myself, until just yesterday it all of a sudden started working as usual. as if nothing was altered. weird.

if anyone knows how they did this, id like to know. but of course a lot of ppl are sensitive about their security and talking about this stuff publicly, and the potential of this info being misused by other ill intentioned persons. so just PM me instead of replying to this thread. but honestly, breaking into the CRX can be done in 2 seconds with a license plate, that at least I know how to do... i dont think anyone should think their CRX is secure anyway, i certainly dont, and didnt even before my car was stolen.

oops, not in my sig anymore. the recovery is detailed here.

yeah watch Repo men on the TLC channel.. they should how to do it literaly. big screw driver, jam it in there with a hammer.. get a crecent wrench for levelage at the end, and break the tumbler out once thats don't anything long and hard (no pun intended) will start the car

to prevent someone from doing this, disable the keystart, and go with a push buttom and hide it somewhere, this way they can rotate the key as much as they want, and the car will never start.

I firmly believe that I still have my car because of that idea. My car was broken into, the stereo stolen, the car cleaned out. The ignition was on and the hood was popped. No broken glass. No fingerprints. From the looks of it, they tried to take it. Guess they couldn't figure out how to start it.

Default An easy way to disable ignit

ion...is to add a $1.00 switch inline somewhere it won't be noticed. under the dash or in the glovebox. mine will never be found and thus never be stolen n such a manner.
