all you racers out there, how fast would my accord be ??
Hi, i'm going to put an h22a motor in my 1988 honda accord 4 door. I would like to know how fast my car would be with that motor, i'm not going to modify anything else, it will be the h22a engine, an air intake, and an exhaust system, thats it. I'd like to have an approximation of what i could do on the 1/4 mile, and from 0 to 100 .... And by the way, at what rpm does the h22a tops off at ? is it 7,5 rpm ?? thats not 8 rpm , but it's still awesome....
bench racing is no fun, find out for urself.
1/4 mile times depend upon the driver, tuning of the engine, modifications, etc. just swap it and see.

about the same times that an h22a integra will run, but you're going to have one hell of a time getting that motor in there
You'll run the same times as a stock Prelude (with an H22, not F22). Relatively the same weight. So estimating around high 15s, or so.
Ah, almost forgot. Is your car an automatic, or manual?

since when did stock preludes run high 15s?
also, you guys are missing the point that unless this kid has a ton of cash at his disposal, the h22a will not be going in his 3rd gen accord.

I don't see why high 15s is unachievable in a 3G Accord with an H22. I know of a number of 5Gs that run mid 14s with the H22, and bolt-ons, and they are heavier than the 3Gs.

kinda what i was thinking...
Yes, you already have the car...you probably love it...but that's a hella lot of fabrication. The reality of this conversion is that your car will be laid up for a LOOOOOOOOG time and you will spend 2-3x more $$ than you planned. Is it worth it?

Good luck on that one!

a stock prelude with an h22a will lrun as well as a high 14 with a great driver, 14.9-15.3 is a good range, with the 5th gens running slightly slower.
and the weighth of the prelude is about 300 or mroe lbs heavier than a 3rd gen accord. a 3rd gen accord is in the 2300-2500 lb range. thats civic territory, hell a teg gsr is closer to 2700 as well.
a 3rd gen accord with an h22a shouold be capable of low 14s, but the hard part is getting the engine in and working.
