Default ZC DOHC vs. SOHC

I have done the research on thezcresource.com to find out the differences, however on my engine the marking are gone...I was wondering if anyone could thell me the visual differences between a SOHC and a DOHC ZC engine?

Thanx Kyle

The DOHC has a very wide valve cover, and two cam gears.

The DOHC will have a black plastic cover -on- the valve cover opposite to the distributer. Also.. DOHC will have a 'ribbed' style valve cover and the SOHC will have a smooth valve cover.

Have someone show the how to tell the difference from an engine with 2 cams compared to an engine with only 1.

The A6 was SOHC. I think he was joking. Or at least I hope he was.

well it may not look exactly like that, I havent seen my car in a week so its fuzzy. But I know that it is not the valve cover with the dip and the plugs in the middle. My plugs are at the back of the cover. Its a jdm dohc if that matters? I know its a dohc because I took the cover off a few times

Is there a dohc with a valve cover with the plugs on the back?

If its a DOHC the spark plugs are in the center. I think you saw the rocker arms when you thought you were looking at the cams?

wow I really dont know. I bought it off ebay and it was listed as a dohc. BUT The valve cover my motor came with had a leak from a dent so my dad was able to use the valve cover form my blown engine. Would a dohc cover be interchangeable with the stock 89 Si motor.

Should I start to cry now?

I didnt really care and Ive never gotten a chance to drive the car yet quick since Im pretty much going show and audio. Think I might get looking into a 65 shot. ****
