Default zc motor in 97' civic?

How hard would this swap be and what year motor should I look for? I am going to convert to obd-I if that matters...

wow that would be a crazy shitstorm of converting.

OBDII to OBDI car harness and OBD-0 to OBDI engine harness

my advice would be get a newer engine. a SOHC Vtec (ex) motor from the same generation will produce the same power and be a 10x easier swap.

not to mention the fact that the ZC would NEVER pass emissions in your car and the motor is very old so you are gonna have to replace some things before it even goes on.

Thats what I figured. There was a zc that I was able to get really cheap, but oh well. Guess I will look for a d16y8.

We did one into a customer's car earlier this summer. We had a grey plug ZC motor (OBD-1) and just converted the EK Civic to OBD-1 and used an ECU adapter harness. Works just fine and better than the old HX motor that was in there, but still an odd looking setup.

Yes that is very odd to say the least. Cheap little setup but I wonder if its really worth the trouble.

Cheap setup? Sure, if you find the OBD-1 longblock for $500 or less. Worth the trouble? Only if you're replacing your old tired/blown motor. Otherwise, it's not that much of a power gain, if any, with the ZC motor.

What is that 1.6 DOHC? That's an odd little duck, looks great with the box intake. I'l lie to everyone and tell them it was stock, hehehe.

I had a '95 twin cam ZC in my '00 hatchback, (yes it was wierd looking).

It went 13.2 @ 101 in the quarter though.
(Turbocharged).
