...modded itr on azenis - analyze my slips?
I went to the local drag strip last night: http://www.atlantadragway.com
Conditions were good for GA: low 50's in temp, low humidity, but from what everyone tells me - the track is slower than most..... Apparently the high altitude is bad for FF draggers... I don't know if that's true or not, because this was my first time running this car, and my first time at this track.
Here's the info on the car:
2001 itr
falken azenis (205/50/15) all around
cf hood
rear seats removed
aem cai
hytech header
custom 2.5" exhaust + cutout
toda spec a cams (untuned)
4.9 final drive
toda clutch and flywheel
CEL (code 45)
gas light on

.....now here are my questions:
My best et was 14.282 @ 98.06 mph with a 2.302 60ft. How can I get to a 2.0 60ft? On my last 2 or 3 runs, I noticed that my clutch seemed to be slipping when I'd shift at high rpms... It is about 1 year old and has approximately 35k miles on it... As the night wore on, you can see that the cold really hampered my ability to cut a good 60ft. But my highest trap speed was 99.06 on my last run - again I suspect the cold helped the power output at that time...
I have no idea how much power the car is making currently - could be 175-180whp peak... There's definitely more left in her with tuning...
What *should* I be running? I hear rumors that this track is anywhere from .2-.5 slower than other tracks.....

Damn, 9 runs, you really are a drag *****. I only got 4 runs. My best 60 was at 2.0 with 10 psi tire pressure on the slicks. You can borrow them anytime you want, they still got a few runs on them. I was launching from like 6k rpm and they hooked fine.
Damn Ken, run that bitch!
Dont really know what to say about the times, but i can tell you arent a Drag Racer.
Good luck next time, Learn to feather that clutch, dont be scared. Spin off the line a lil, get a lil more MPH. I believe you can touch 13s if you really wanted to.

you should be running alot faster than that i would think......with my 90 hatch that had a b17 i was running azenis on a set of 14inch wheels i had and i was pulling consistant 2.1 60'ft......with a best 1/8th mile of 9.2
i am sure you can do better........go try again

trap speeds are good for decent high 13s, get a new clutch and launch higher and ride out the clutch till the tires grip, then pound the gears would be my advice.
also tune it, what fpr are you at?

I've been doing 1/4 mile for the last few weeks and I have pretty much the same times as you. On friday night I ran a 14.20, 14.21, 14.22: not in that order though. My best 60' was a 2.1 . This was done on Azenis @ 22psi and I/E. 93 octane and almost a half tank. My best so far was a 14.1. I think that with your trap speeds you should definately see 13's. Just work on that 60'
. With a new clutch and warmer weather think I should hit 13's as well..

on azenis i used to trap 99mph but i seem to trap lower with the nittos and slicks
im rolling on stock suspension
just 4 year old rsr springs
i think i could improve the 60ft on streets with a stiffer rear suspension set up
i also got a camber kit in the front now so my tire patch is bigger now

The CEL would be hurting you alot wouldn't it? Generally you will run very rich with retarded ignition timing when you are throwing a code. What is it 02 sensor? I would get the fixed first of all.
.....that's right, I forgot about my camber:
neg 2.5 degrees at all 4 corners!
You think 99mph is good for 13's?
Yeah, I'll get the tuning and CEL taken care of asap.
But those won't help my 60ft times! LOL

code 45 is system too lean or system too rich
p0171(45)too lean
p0172(45) too rich
check your plugs it will tell you if your running lean or not
anyway once you get that sorted out you should net 14.0s to 13.8s with a 2.0 2.1 2.2 60ft
get that fawker tuned!
