OK guys, I am not trying to start a big pissing contest. Lets try to keep this one a bit more civil so it doesn't get locked. I just moved to UT from CO and the racing scene is really dull here. The cars that can run with me at the track I can count on 1 hand. I took about 40 days off for the holidays and am willing to travel to get some good races.
10k isn't that much money for a car that goes sub 8.50's. You can burn that up in one bad run. The reason behind the bet was so that the winner had at least a portion of anything he breaks covered. I wasn't trying to be a cocky *** or anything, geez guys. Lighten up a little bit, I'm not trying to stir things up.
The 200 mph traps is about right for my combo. I like to drive the car in parades and things like that so I can't set it up for a 100% 1/4 mile car. Right now it is cutting just under 1.0 sixty foot times, most of the guys going into the high 7's are in the .75 area. That's OK for me right now though.
I could also go a bit more agressive on the nitro/alcohol mix, but I am trying to keep the motor together. Right now it has about 200 passes on it. All I have to do to maintain it now, is change the main bearings about every 10 passes, it kinda squishes them out, lol.
Obviously there is no gas station that sells nitro or alcohol, so I guess it is techinically not a street car. I do keep it registered in Rock Springs CO, where there is no safety or emissions. I can put 91 octane gas in it, but I have to pulley down the blower. I've never ran it on pump gas, but I would be suprised if it would break out of the double digits. I can also drive it about 160 miles on the 22 gallon fuel cell.
Someone in the earlier thread said they would do it for 10k, lets set that up.
Let's try not to bust on my "mom" or anything like that in this one too ok. I didn't come here to **** off a bunch of15 year old kids.
