Default Hit the dyno, Drag3/Hondata 7PSI

I am real happy. Went from NA to the JRSC @ 6PSI for 2+ years, back to NA for a week (what an awful week) then went turbo..finally.

The past month has been a blur, between pulling the charger, getting the turbo kit in, finally hitting the dyno...well I am HAPPY.

Here is the final result:

And here is the final vs the baseline:

Im extremely happy....247/174 @ 7PSI if the pictures dont show up...basically a Drag3 kit (t3/t04e .63a/r) + Tial WG, w/2.5" test pipe to 60mm exhaust.

HUGE thanks as always goes to Steve (SGT) for his last minute assistance with things and awesome awesome tuning. Also thanks to Jun (B20B) who opened his shop up for me on a Sunday to lend me a hand with some welding...big thanks man. Stan as well for coming through with a feed line instantly, and HybridKoop for an awesome kit. You guys are all so ******* cool, I cant give you all enough :thumbup"'s!!!!!

For those that are curious, I made 214/150 @ 6PSI with the charger. Im very pleased with the torque curve, which seems pretty good for a turbo setup. Lag is nonexistent...if anyone is contemplating the switch, dont let lag stop you. Just clicked over 110k and shes better than ever!!! What do you guys think?

That's almost exactly what my numbers are on my setup. You don't have the ugly dip I have around 4700rpm because of "pre-mature vtec" though
Very nice

Great numbers Nick

I expect to have a bit of the same numbers on 7psi and also tuned on Hondata. I am expecting anywhere from 250-275whp...then ill be happy.

Post up some vids of that thing in action

Traction is awesome...MUCH better than with the charger. 1st gear obviously flies to redline, but traction isnt really much of a problem. Havent launched the car yet, so Im not sure in that department. In terms of just punching it in 1st/2nd/3rd, traction is great.

Congrats Nick! I told you that you'd NEVER regret going to a snail from that blower.

Great numbers from a 110k stock block dude... when the time comes, build that sucker up and run 14-16 on the street, then you'll be having some reeeeal fun

BTW, what solved your slight spiking problem? Just installing the catback?

which one is funner to drive?
Nice job BTW. I cant wait til springtime to put my charger in. After my motor goes then Il go all out and get a turbo setup with a 2.0 rebuild. Or put my car back to stock and keep the blown motor and throw it in a hatch and go N/A.

You mentioned your traction is good. Do you have an lsd? If not what are you using to help put the power to the ground effectively.

I think Ill stick at 7 for now...although we all know how that goes. To be honest, the turbo setup is a hell of a lot more fun. The feeling when youre fully spooled and pressed in the seat is nothing that the charger ever provided at similar boost levels.

The JRSC was awesome for worry-free (other than belts) boost and instant pickup, but the fun factor wasnt nearly as high as it is now. Surprisingly, this setup picks up pretty damn quickly. Like I said, lag really isnt an issue. Dont get me wrong, I think the JRSC is a great setup if thats what you want...it served me well for a long time, I made good power with it and it made my car a blast to drive. But this is a totally different car now!

No LSD...stock tranny, just have ES torque mount inserts (not the rear). Im not sure why traction is solid...last night it was just sticking very very well. As for the spiking, as soon as I popped on the testpipe and exhaust, it settled down immensely. I was hitting 8-9ish, now at a solid 7.

Needless to say, I have a big smile on my face.

That's awesome man. I am thinking about getting that kit as well, but with the precision sc50, should i be hitting about the same numbers, or slightly higher?

If you don't mind, what is your suspension and tire/rim setup?

Im curious because I have a b18c1 in my hatch, and over the winter I am putting on my maxrev kit with hondata.

I am shooting for power like what you got, and I don't want a car that is going to be useless in lower gears. RIght now I have koni yellows, ground control coilovers, 16" rotas, and 215/40R16 tires.

I had a b16 turbo before, and traction was never really a problem with that...even with 185 tires....probably due to the low torque.

My setup is very basic...Eibach Sportlines/Tokico Blues, ES inserts, 15" C8s & 205/50 Kumho 712's that are coming off soon for some ES100's.

Traction was a major problem with the charger...I guess the way the power is delivered, it hooks up very well.

Definitely daily driven...my car sees rain/sleet/ice/wind/sun/birdshit. Which is also why Im hesitant to turn it up with all the driving I do.

The clutch is the original stock clutch thats been on the car since day 1. Its going to be replaced soon enough, as I cant imagine it has much life left. Although I dont rag on it, Im amazed its lasted this long.
